Hancock
Little League Baseball leagues are operated in town. Please visit
our Organizations
page for telephone contacts should you have a little leaguer who
wants to Play Ball!
Explorer
Post 38 is the only Explorer Post operating in our immediate
area. Their Explorer speciality is Law Enforcement.
For kids only fishing, the Little Tonoloway Creek in Widmeyer Memorial
Park (on Main Street) is stocked with rainbow trout every Spring
by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Trout fishing is
restricted to only kids (or the blind). The stocking schedule can
be found at http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/springstocktable.html
There's even something for the babies in Hancock. Every year the
Hancock Lioness Club sponsors the Baby Contest as a part of the
September Canal-Apple Days festival in Widmeyer Memorial Park. Get
all the details about Canal-Apple Days at our Festivals

The town is very kid-friendly. New playground equipment was added
in 2004 for the Municipal Playground and Widmeyer Memorial Park.
